I searched the archives for this question but it doesn't seem to have been asked yet, so:
What are the InterOp plans for adding support for reading and writing CATIA V6 parts and assemblies?
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
The short answer: Use InterOp ACIS V5 Reader.
The longer answer: V6 is an on-line environment with multiple workbenches (CATIA, SIMULIA, etc.) working on data that's all stored in an ENOVIA repository. There is no such thing as a CATIA V6 part or assembly file. The only way to read precise part and product data out of V6 currently is to export is as V5 CATPart and CATProduct - which 3D InterOp CATIA V5 Reader handles just fine.
Best,
Ray Bagley

Thanks Ray.
The extra detail about how V6 works was very useful.

Hi,
A customer using V6 told me that it exports CATShape files, not CATPart files.
Is InterOp CATIA V5 reader capable of handling this files ?
Thanks,
Julien

The CATBack function saves CATPart and CATProduct files.
