Examples of ACIS-SAT files with rare subtypes

We are in the final stage of developing support of ACIS importer and exporter for CAD Exchanger (http://www.cadexchanger.com). As we work through adding support of remaining entity types we could not find sample files that would contain several spline subtypes. The list includes (but is not limited to):

surfaces: subsur, ruledtapersur, edgetapersur, offsetvbsur, swepttapersur, etc

curves: parasil, perspsil, etc

We have not encountered these types when scanning our test database of 600+ files, and search on internet does not give anything.

Could someone advise where these files can be found or created ?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello Roman,

Spatial does not have any files to share so we will let the community address this.

With subsur surfaces - 0000220001.zip and 0000590001.zip, with swepttapersur surfaces - 0000160001.zip, but inside curve definition only.

Re: Examples of ACIS-SAT files with rare subtypes

Vi2, thank you very much for sending this out ! Indeed, swepttapersur are inside the curves only and will be ignored during conversion but at least the parsing drivers will be tested, so this is good. Have you used ACIS kernel itself to create them ? Do you know if InterOp can do this as well?

Another question to all: I encountered 'helixsplline' (note double L) twice which seems to be some undocumented subtype. In both files Autodesk Inventor was specified as a generating system. Does anyone know if this is really specific to Inventor or I'm missing something ?

Thanks again.

No, I don't create these files. I don't know yet how they were obtained.

I have found some files (see more_swepttapersur.zip) written by origin creator, perhaps Cimatron because of "MdEntAtt-CimEnAt-cimattr-attrib" attribute.

These files have header

Thank you very much Vi2. You are *really* making my day!

Should you decide to become our customer make sure you ask for preferred conditions ;-).

Here is finally a full list of missing subtypes. I will be thankful if you or anybody else can provide examples containing any of them.

Thank you again,

Roman
