Hi, I have some questions about the translation healing option.
1. Can some kind of information or report be generated on what occurred during the heal process?
2. Does the heal process have any other options to control its behavior?
Thanks,
Raymond

Hello Raymond,
InterOp healing is a bit of a black box and we do not provide much control to the customer. We note the operations performed here...http://doc.spatial.com/index.php/InterOp:Connect/Options/Common_Options_Detailed#Healing. What kind of information are you look for?
Regards,
Yogesh

Hi Yogesh,
This is actually a question from one of our customers which is of course directed to our software but is implemented under InterOp. I guess they are concerned with maintaining the integrity of the CAD model in terms of its native format and how healing may affect this.
Regards,
Raymond

Raymond,
IOP use of healing is all internal and is not exposed to users - Hence not documented. IOP healing is data specific - as we know the common problems specific to individual formats.
IOP uses ACIS healing and more of ACIS functionality in order to generate good quality models.

Hi Raymond,
As was pointed out above, you don't get much information regarding healing, but I did want to point out that you do get error information if things don't go as planned. For an example, please see the following code example .
Also, for a more general overview of healing, please read through the following documentation: http://doc.spatial.com/index.php/Healing
Thanks,
Robert

Just a note. The link Robert sent out above explains how ACIS healing is done. Eventhough IOP uses some ACIS healing functionality to heal the imported model, IOP healing and ACIS healing are quite different in nature and what they correct in the imported model and can not be used interchangeably.
