Reading NX6 feature attributes

[ Edited ]

Hi! I attached feature string attributes within some my model features in NX6. I did some initial testing on trying to get those attributes within the entities after the conversion process but I can not seem to find them. I just want to confirm if ACIS InterOp supports the translation of these kinds of attributes?

Thank you very much,

Raymond

Re: Reading NX6 feature attributes

Hello Raymond,

We do support string attributes but I do not know if we can tell from the information provided here if we translate this particular attribute or not....Can you please add a note on how the string attribute was created in the NX6 application as that will help answer this question? It would be great if you can upload a sample file, log file and session file also.

Re: Reading NX6 feature attributes

Hi Raymond,

Currently Interop doesn't support feature attributes. I also found that Interop also unable to translate feature tree names (If you rename 'Extrude' as 'My Block', Interop is unable to translate the name).

Please contact Support/Management for escalations.

Thanks and Regards

Vajra.

Re: Reading NX6 feature attributes

Hi Vajra,

Thank you very much for that answer. I am also doing some initial testing on the feature tree names that you have mentioned and it seems I have the same problem.

Re: Reading NX6 feature attributes

Raymond,

you should be able to translate any string Attribute that you attach through the "General" Tab in the attributes window you are showing us here in UG. Is there a reason you need to use the feature string option?

Please let me know

thanks

Re: Reading NX6 feature attributes

Hi Sarvnaz,

From what I remember when I was testing it, that only works for faces and bodies. Our application requires them to be attached on free curves and free points. Also, defining it as an NX feature attribute will allow us to define our own name/title for the attribute.

Thank you,

Raymond
