Hi,
I have a question on how to keep persistent naming attributes after surface is split?
The detail thing is:
We have a sphere and a cylinder, they are clash, shown in the attached picture.
We do following actions on these two BODY.
1. assign a name attribute for the surface of sphere, as "sphere".
2. subtract the intersection part from cylinder (still call it cylinder), keep the sphere non-change.
3. NONREG_UNION these two BODY.
There are 4 faces for the result BODY, 2 for the cylinder, 1 for original sphere, the last one is a 2-sides face, belongs to sphere and cylinder.
Here, we would like to know which 2 faces belong to the original sphere.
But we find:
1. there is not any face has the name attribute "sphere" if we use option "SplitKeep".
2. there is only one face has the name attribute "sphere" if we use option "SplitCopy".
Does any split attribute option can make 2 faces has the name attribute "sphere"? or How can we do?
Thanks in advance.
xpz
